Every hour, another person in the UK goes blind. When someone loses their sight, the charity Guide Dogs is here to make sure they don’t lose their freedom as well.
The Guide Dog Association campaigns for the rights of people blind or partially sighted to have the same freedom as everyone else. The Guide Dog Association is currently responsible for around 8000 dogs with 4800 guide dog owners in the UK. It costs £5 a day to support a working guide dog partnership and it will cost around £50,000 for the training and support in a guide dogs lifetime. The guide dog service receives NO Government funding and relies entirely on public support and donations. To date the Guide Dog Association has helped over 29,000 individuals to achieve life changing independence.
